so it's been a while. where to start?
my life in the form of a cartoon:

yes, it's true... i feel like i have so much work to do and the semester's only just begun. at the moment, i'm actually quite happy about the challenge. ironically, all my "scary" classes [aka orgo II and neurobio] are the ones i am most enjoying [yes, i'm a dork]. and despite my heavy courseload and whatever rumors may be circulating, i have no plans of throwing my social life out the window

i miss boston and all it's goodness [and not-so-goodness].
i miss my lab and talks about life and relationships with my lab members, and our weekly lab meetings, and my A172 brain tumor cells, and my western blots
i miss my department and our weekly softball games, and our pizza parties, and our super physiology spirit during the sackler relays
i miss the city and riding the T, and running through boston common, and seeing all the historic landmarks, and being in the middle of chinatown [well, maybe not that last one so much]
but most of all, i miss my posner 2 peeps and our movie outings, and our lab complaint sessions, and our nightly gym visits, and our spanish lessons, and our late nite a.b.p. stops, and our end of the summer feast...
i do not miss all the silly bostonian animosity towards NY... not just the yankees, but the state in general. it's really silly, isn't it?
so in conclusion,

...boston was fun for the summer, but i'm glad to be back in NY.

hi, my name is katrina... yes, like the hurricane.
it kinda stinks that one of the worst hurricanes in history shares my namesake. and of course it had to hit right at the start of the semester when i was in the process of meeting lots of new people. if i had a penny for all the "hurricane katrina!" IM's/messages/comments i've received over the past few weeks, i'd be a lot richer right now. but all jokes aside, it's really a terrible situation... i can barely believe the damage that's been done. i know people whose houses are completely washed away. it really puts things in perspective by reminding me that my problems aren't so bad after all. in any case, my prayers go out to all the families who were and continue to be affected by the hurricane.
